A longtime San Francisco resident, Sharon Olivia Hoff was inspired to enter the real estate profession because she truly believes in the financial, personal, and community benefits of home ownership. Owning a home or investment property in the ultra-competitive Bay Area market is not for everyone, but for those determined to make it happen, Sharon can guide the way.
As a student in UC Berkeley’s Masters of City Planning program, Sharon gained a comprehensive understanding of the many complex factors that affect the local housing market. Sharon later oversaw numerous independent contractors and managed construction projects totaling over $30 million in capitalized value while working as an urban economist and affordable housing developer. The skills gained from these experiences uniquely prepared Sharon to serve her real estate clients:
· Her financial expertise and negotiating skills allow her to achieve the best deal terms and ensure the best financial outcome for clients
· Her ability to efficiently coordinate multiple time-sensitive activities makes the escrow period as stress-free as possible
· Her thoroughness and attention to detail prevent unpleasant surprises and lead to successful closings
Sharon first became familiar with the city when she moved to San Francisco after college and tutored clients in almost every neighborhood. Her interest in the city’s history and architecture combined with her love of walking and bicycling gave Sharon a unique appreciation of the city and its many hidden treasures as well as a gut ability to pinpoint which neighborhoods will best meet clients’ needs and wants. A San Francisco homeowner, landlord, and former renter, Sharon analyzes sales and purchases from multiple perspectives, allowing clients to avoid costly mistakes that can easily accompany transactions here, as well as saving them time and money.
Originally from Chicago, Sharon is passionate about sustainability, livability, and urban form. She is particularly interested in housing issues, especially the implementation of policies that promote efficient land use and housing affordability without the use of subsidies. An alternative transportation advocate, Sharon uses a bicycle and City Carshare vehicles for most of her transportation needs. In her spare time, she enjoys surfing, weightlifting, and spending time with friends and family. A licensed California Real Estate Broker, Sharon has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Michigan State University and a Masters of City Planning from U.C. Berkeley. She is a member of SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Research), the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, and a variety of other civic organizations.
